Bike Auckland is a charity who believes more people on bikes makes for a better Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland for everyone. We push for positive change on behalf of everyone who rides a bike – and everyone who would love to give it a go. Our goal: a vibrant, connected, and climate-friendly region which enables us to be good kaitiaki (guardians / stewards) for Papatūānuku (Earth).
Bike Auckland has a focus on inclusivity, reducing barriers to cycling from A to B. Riding a bike is sometimes easier than walking, keeping people active and out and about in the community for longer. For some people, a bike – whether it’s two wheeled, three wheeled, or powered by hands instead of feet – can become a mobility aid.
At the Tech Expo we will be available for all your bike-related questions, such as safe routes to ride to your favourite destinations in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, and ideas for what kind of bike (or E-bike) might suit you best. We will be joined by Cycling Without Age Pt Chev, a group who offers older folk a chance to enjoy the wind in their hair, thanks to electrified trishaws (bicycle rickshaws) powered by volunteer pilots.
