Look back on history through the future by trying out a unique Augmented Reality (AR) experience created by Auckland Libraries and Waxeye Studios, featuring photographs from heritage collections. Learn how to use Beamafilm, a movie and TV streaming service available with your membership, explore our online family history resources or learn more about using the Libby app to download eBooks and eAudiobooks onto your device. We also want to hear from you about how we can improve access to our library digital services.
WasteWise
The WasteWise Team will be on hand to help you navigate their online platform to access fun, simple, informative solutions to minimising waste at home and in everyday life. There will also be a chance to win some spot prizes with their online Recycle Right game. Come and test your knowledge and see if you’re up to speed with what does and doesn’t go in your recycling bin!
Auckland Emergency Management (AEM)/Healthy Waters
AEM with the Healthy Waters and Flood Resilience Team are joining forces to demonstrate how to access important information online before, during and after an emergency. Take a tour of the AEM website, learn how to download and create your own household emergency plan and get advice on the most useful apps to have on your phone such as Metservices app. Healthy Waters will be on hand to walk you through the Auckland Flood Viewer and check if your home is at risk of flooding. Come and check it out on the day and provide feedback for a spot prize!
Auckland Transport
The Auckland Transport team will be there on the day to provide advice and support on using the AT Mobile app and providing information about using your Supergold Card for transport concessions.
Auckland Pools and Leisure
Come and learn how to access Auckland Council’s awesome online resource Akl Paths to find your next walk and explore Auckland’s coastline, marvel at a waterfall, hike a trail, walk the dog or follow a walkway or track to a lookout. The team will also be on hand to show you how to access information about the wide range of classes running daily at our leisure centres across the region and how to book online. There’s also a chance to win some spot prizes on the day!
